Private lessons on Lever Harp

 My Teaching Philosophy:

Teaching harp is a sensitive and delicate exchange between student and teacher. I see myself as a coach, a support system, and guide. My purpose is to help the individual open to his or her inner ability and passion. My teaching is as improvisational as my music, and I never force an external, personal agenda on the student. Each student learns differently, one may need to always use written, structured music, one learns better by memorizing, another by playing and learning by ear.

I offer instruction using the most ergonomic and effective hand position and technique in order to produce the most rich and controlled tone. I use a variety of techniques and sources, written music, folk and classical. And of course, I teach improvisation! My students range in age from 9 to 60 years young.

Some of the instructional books used are by Stephanie Curcio, Silvia Woods, Deborah Friou, Kim Robertson, Susann McDonald, Linda Wood Rollo, Louise Pratt.
